Status Management​

Beyond simple "Incomplete" and "Complete" states, Vigilare offers advanced statuses to reflect the reality of your work. These statuses are stored in the task's notes using metadata, ensuring they sync across devices while remaining compatible with Apple Reminders.

Waiting (⏳)​

Use Case: You've done your part, but you're waiting for someone else (e.g., a reply to an email, a code review, an approval).

  • How to Set:
    • Right-click a task → Mark as Waiting
    • Or in the Edit Window sidebar → Status dropdown → Waiting
  • Behavior:
    • The task remains Incomplete.
    • It displays a "Waiting" badge in the list.
    • It stays in your active list but is visually distinguished.

Dropped (🚫)​

Use Case: You decided not to do this task, but you want to keep a record of it instead of deleting it.

  • How to Set:
    • Right-click a task → Mark as Dropped
    • Or in the Edit Window sidebar → Status dropdown → Dropped
  • Behavior:
    • The task is marked as Completed.
    • It moves to the completed section.
    • It displays a "Dropped" badge, distinguishing it from tasks you actually finished.

Window Pinning​

When editing a task, you might need to reference other windows or keep the editor open while you gather information.

Pin to Top​

The Pin button in the top-right corner of the Edit Window allows you to force the editor window to stay on top of all other windows.

  • Click the Pin icon (📌) to toggle this mode.
  • Filled Pin: Window is always on top.
  • Outline Pin: Window behaves normally.

This is independent of the main list's "Always on Top" setting, giving you granular control over your editing environment.
